The new, requirements for the Cyber Essentials accreditation are coming into effect on the 24th of April 2023. The updated requirements are based on feedback from assessors and underpinned with the new NCSC 3.1 IT Requirements guide. The IT Requirements guide is a pre-requisite for the certification process, and it’s very much worth downloading the free guide and reviewing it to give an idea of what is being asked for on the actual assessment.
For SMEs, achieving Cyber Essentials accreditation is now more important than ever. With the rise of cyber threats and the increasing complexity of these threats, including supply chain phishing, businesses and organisations must ensure that their systems are secure and that their data is protected. The Cyber Essentials accreditation is the first step in achieving this and provides SMEs with the guidance and resources they need to protect their data and systems.
The accreditation process can be completed in a short space of time and will help to ensure that SMEs are secure and compliant with the latest industry standards. This can help to improve customer confidence in your business and reduce the risk of costly data breaches. Additionally, SMEs that are accredited may be eligible for discounted insurance premiums, as well as access to government contracts that require Cyber Essentials accreditation.
