What is Cyber Assurance

IASME Cyber Assurance gives small to medium sized businesses the opportunity to show that they demonstrate a high level of cyber security awareness, comparable to ISO 27001. The Cyber Assurance assessment also incorporates GDPR, so should you suffer a data breach, you’ll be able to prove to the ICO that you have done everything possible to avoid it mitigating potential fines.

As a result, being IASME Cyber Assurance certified means that your business can build, and maintain, a high level of trust with your clients and will be more attractive to other businesses and organisations. Showing that you take data security seriously can give you a head start against your competitors.

To achieve Cyber Assurance Certification, you must be (or become) Cyber Essentials certified. Which can be achieved either separately before going for Cyber Assurance, or by combining both certificates into a single assessment process.

IASME Cyber Assurance Level 1 Assessed

To achieve the IASME Cyber Assurance Level 1 Assessed, businesses must be able to prove that they take data security seriously by demonstrating the following:

That they can identify potential risks that can come from handling and processing sensitive data.
That there are controls in place to prevent data breaches and cyberattacks.
That they can pre-empt potential problems that could result in an accidental data breach, cyberattack or internal/external attempt to breach any security processes.
Provide processes which evidence how they will respond to and recover from a cyberattack or data breach.
