Every year the team at LP Networks do something charitable at Christmas and this year we have decided to focus on people in need in Greenwich, where our company is based. A report by the Royal Borough of Greenwich in September this year announced that 2020 has seen a sharp rise in homelessness and people living in temporary accommodation.
While our team are able to enjoy the festivities from the comfort of our warm homes, many in our area are struggling, so the team has made the decision to make donations to Greenwich Winter Night Shelter and Greenwich Foodbank.
We have donated £100 to Greenwich Winter Night Shelter, a charity which works across the borough to provide space and shelter for 15 guests who are referred to them by various agencies. Alongside providing a place for them to sleep, the shelter also gives a hot, homecooked meal, shower facilities, breakfast and a packed lunch. The aim of the 300 volunteers who help the shelter is to ensure a peaceful, homely atmosphere, where guests can chat and have moment to relax away from the streets.
Additionally, the LP Networks team have donated food and provisions to Greenwich Foodbank. The foodbank operates across 8 locations, providing food and essentials to ensure that no-one in our community goes hungry. Since the start of the first lockdown enquiries to the Greenwich Foodbank rose by 81% with requests from families with children rising by 122%. Each foodbank parcel provides three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food.

We wish all of our customers and our local community a peaceful festive season.
