Server Installation Case Study - NFA Solihull

The Customer

With over 20 years of experience in foster care, The National Fostering Group is the largest independent fostering agency in the UK, with the largest community of foster parents.
The NFA has decades of experience in providing life-changing fostering services for vulnerable children, young people and foster carers alike.

The Challenge    

NFA Solihull recently moved into a new office, however, the NFA Comms supplier were unable to provide a line that connects them into the corporate network in time for their office move. Due to this, the NFA Solihull Data server was moved to a different NFA site with full comms. The users in the new Solihull office then used a 4g connection and VPN to connect into the NFA network. The new WAN connection into the NFA network has now been completed so the NFA Solihull server needs to be moved to their new office and the local network requires configuring.

The Solution

A member of our Project Team collected the server from the NFA Northampton office and transported it to the new NFA Solihull office. Once onsite in the new office we:

• configured and installed a switch.
• installed and reconfigured the NFA Solihull server on the new LAN
• installed a Mitel phone system
• reconfigured the wireless access points.
• patched in and tested all phones and computers

Benefits

As well as a faster network connection, NFA no longer requires VPN to the network as they now have access to all corporate applications. The NFA also have use of corporate phones to dial extension numbers rather than having to use mobiles.
