Cyber Essentials Certification

Cyber Essentials is a UK government information assurance scheme operated by the National Cyber Security Centre that encourages organisations to adopt good practice in information security.

The Cyber Essentials scheme was launched on 5 June 2014. 

You can download all the self assessment questions in pdf format here. If you would like them in an Excel worksheet which is easier to work with then please contact us and we will email it to you. 

Contact us, we will then contact you to take payment. Once payment has been received we will create you an online account. Depending on which service you have decided is best for your business, we will ensure you receive the correct in support and information.

This depends on both the size and accreditation service assistance level you have selected. In our experience most small / medium size businesses completing the DIY assessment need to allocate approximately 3-4 hours.

Our assessor will be notified of your submission, and will review your submission within 48 hours. Once the assessor has completed the assessment you will be notified as to whether you have passed or failed your application.

A board member from your organisation signs a declaration to confirm that the assessment answers are true. A qualified assessor from LP Networks will review the submitted assessment to ensure the standards have been met.

You will receive a notification advising you of the area(s) that did not meet the standards, with some guidance in respect of the non-compliance(s). You have the opportunity to resubmit yourself assessment within 48 hours, without additional charge.  However, should your business fail the second submission, any further submission would require a fresh application and related fee.

You will be notified, and your certificate will be emailed to you.

The certification is like a Car MOT, it a point in time test that last for one year.

Unfortunately, not, there is a strong possibility that the Cyber Essentials standard questions would have changed.  Additionally, there is also the possibility that your business may have changed during this time, and your answers would not be the same.
